Our Story

Our journey brought us to Idaho

After Evangel University Joe met Jaclyn in Juneau, Alaska while interning at Juneau Christian Center AG under Presbyter Mike Rose. While it was evident that God was calling each of them into the five fold, it also became apparent that He had also placed them together for a specific reason – to minister as a team. After dating for three years, they were married in 1999 and took a position as youth pastors under pastor Jim Sinclair, Church on the Move AG in Plains, Montana. Joe and Jaclyn have been involved in two church plants [Texas and Washington] and eventually pioneered Searchlight Fellowship on the Idaho/Washington border. In the fall of 2011, Searchlight successfully merged with Falls Christian Assembly, and the blending of these two fellowships resulted in a new identity, which is now The River Church.

What we do at The River

The role and function of a Lead Pastor

Pastor Joe and Jaclyn Filancia are the Lead Pastors of The River Church, Post Falls. Joe is a licensed minister with the Assemblies of God in the Northwest Network and Jaclyn also serves as Worship Pastor, co-laboring with Christ to see teams of worshipers arise! They lead by example as they encourage the congregation and students to be responsible stewards of time and energy in order to advance The Kingdom. They also founded The River Master's Commission bible college, and passionately directed three tiers of students, along with eight staff members for 8 years. It is exciting to see how God is leading His church in these faith-filled harvest days!

How I can get involved

You have an opportunity to meet our pastors

The Bible says in Acts 17 that God has determined the time period and places that mankind would dwell on this earth. This means that God knows you, loves you, designed and created you; and He does not make useless junk! You are created for a purpose, and God desires to have a personal relationship with you. He really loves you!

The Bible goes on to say one of the most profound statements that God reveals to man, "In Him (God) we live and move and have our life (being)" A life full of God's love equals a relational life, committed and accountable, a life that pours out His love to one another.

We welcome you to meet our pastors at one of our weekly meetings or events.
